Clars Auctions’ is excited to present items from The Jason King Binder Collection of Chinese Export Porcelain on November 19th, beginning 1 PM PST.

Mr. Binder began collecting Chinese export porcelain in the 1980s and is now in his fifth decade of collecting. The single seller sale (The Connoisseur’s Eye) of a portion of his collection at Grogan Auctions in Boston earlier this year achieved massive success and set a new bar both with respect to the accompanying catalog as well as the depth of focus on the American market.

The current single-seller sale of items from Mr. Binder’s collection likewise features an eclectic mix, ranging from the Kangxi era up to the Republic period. Pieces from each decade over two centuries of time are included, with wonderful examples of Yongzheng-era armorials, grisaille and polychrome enamel European subjects, and another truly remarkable grouping of American market items. There is a heavy concentration of items from the Federal Era (1790–1820), the Canton Famille Rose era (1820–1850), and the Rose Medallion wares of the third quarter of the 19th century. There are many monogrammed items which have now been identified, thanks to Mr. Binder’s tireless efforts in this regard.
