Clars Auction Gallery is proud to announce that they have been selected by the Trotter family of Pacific Grove and Carmel, CA, to represent the entire inventory of Trotter’s Antiques to the global market beginning on May 31, 2015, and continuing for several months thereafter.  After over five decades of continued operation, Mrs. Trotter has retired.

Lee and Richard Trotter opened their gallery in Pacific Grove in 1965, and for over 50 years, it has been a go to destination for investment level collectors nationwide. From major celebrities to tycoons of business, the client list of Mrs. Trotter was extensive, and Trotter’s Antiques was regarded as one of the finest antiques galleries in the state.

Clars Auction Gallery will offer some very important pieces in the initial sale of Trotter’s Antiques on May 31, including an important Napoleon III ebonized and hardstone cabinet executed by Charles Diehl estimated at $10,000-$15,000.  Other decorative examples are a monumental Baccarat opaline hand painted centerpiece retailed in San Francisco in 1868; and a large collection of table lamps including Pairpoint, and a rare Bent Glass Novelty Co. New York, oil lamp estimated at $10,000-$15,000.  The summer months will include Mrs. Trotter’s extensive doll inventory which will be offered during several sales.  A highlight of Clars September auction will include an extensive hammered sterling hot beverage service executed by Gorham in the Martele pattern which will carry an estimate of $50,000-$70,000.
